母親給兒子的詩
Ｌangston Ｈughes
兒子啊！我想告訴你，
人生不是水晶做的樓梯。
樓梯上會有釘子掉落，
還有荊棘；
板子上還會有洞，
地板上沒有鋪地毯，
空無一物的地板。
可是我到目前為止，
都不曾停止腳步，
我抵達了樓梯，
來到了角落，
偶爾也爬到沒有沒有電燈黑暗的地方。
可是兒子啊！我不會回頭。
不要在樓梯上猶豫，
因為你現在，
只是有點辛苦。
你一定要知道，
不可以猶豫。
兒子啊！因為你還在爬上樓梯，
還在爬啊！
人生對你而言不是水晶做的樓梯。
